About

Welcome

We all are on a journey in life. I like to think of it like backpacking which is something I get to enjoy living in the Pacific Northwest. Life is about evaluating what we are going to carry and sometimes we don’t realize how much we are putting in our packs. I am here to help you set the pack down and evaluate what you may need to unload so you can keep working on your journey.

What I have in my pack won’t be the same things you need in yours at a given point in life. With the understanding that life can be crappy, messy, hilarious, wonderful and terrifying. I am here to be a a Life Straw® (on the go water filter) for all your emotional filtration needs.

My Path

The last seven years I have specialized primarily in addiction. I have worked in a variety of settings with both adolescents and adults. That generally equates to specializing in relationships, whether it be to another thing, person or to oneself. We all go through seasons of discomfort and growth, I am here to take it one step at a time with you.

Doing the work

I use a collaborative therapy approach, whether working with adolescents or adults. I use some of the most effective therapy methods available today including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. In therapy you can expect to focus on developing boundaries and gaining insight into areas for personal growth.

You can’t always control what happens in your life, but you always have control over your reactions and behaviors. I am here for you to process where you are at and support you with gaining the tools you need to better respond to situations and people in your life and achieve your goals.

With empathy, I work to help you become more aware of the judgments and negative feelings you have about yourself so you can develop a more accurate and positive self-perception. When you feel better about yourself you’ll feel more fulfilled and optimistic about your future.

Together in therapy, we can work towards creating the life you have always wanted.
